The basic process is to put your decarboxylated weed and butter in a pot with a little water just to make sure the butter doesn’t burn, and heat on a low simmer for 3 to 6 hours. Long as the butter doesn’t burn, the longer you heat, the more cannabinoids you get in the butter. Some prefer to heat in a crockpot to 6 hours. Let it cool enough to handle, strain out the plant material and discard (the thc is now inside the butter!), then put it in the fridge overnight for it to harden. Once the butter has been sufficiently infused, remove from heat and gently pour the contents of the pan over the cheese cloth to strain. As the rate of butter flow slows, carefully lift the edges of the cheese cloth from the rim of the bowl to create a ball of processed, buttery weed. One of my good friends sent me this recipe and it looks really delicious actually. I don’t tend to like hummus but I would definitely recommend trying this recipe out if you’re looking for something new to try. Not only that but hummus has amazing health benefits, including high amounts of fiber and protein. Since hummus also contains beans, hummus has the potential to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of cancer. If you’re looking for a new healthy sandwich spread or chip dip, give this hummus a shot (it’ll also get you stoned so if it doesn’t taste that great, at least it’ll have a good effect).
This product may be applied to an “oil rig” for the highest intensity medication possible. An oil rig is a device used much like a traditional water pipe, or bong, which uses a heated element, usually titanium or quartz, to heat up the High CBD Hash Oil to a critical temperature. The oil is vaporized, channeled through water filtration for cooling, and inhaled by the user in a large concentration. This produces a less-bodied smoke that is not as thick as cannabis-plant smoke but equally expansive in the lungs and cough inducing.
Put the cap on the milk jug and shake it for 5 minutes, then put it in the freezer for 5 minutes. Repeat the shaking/freezing process two or three times. Now, grab the coffee filter and strain out all of the liquid in the jug. Make sure to get all of the liquid strained in to the bowl. With your freezer set to the highest setting, put the bowl of water in the freezer. Be very careful with it and try not to disturb it too much. The bowl should sit in the freezer for around 45 minutes, or until the fluid begins to form a delicate ice layer. It’s also a good idea to tap the bowl lightly with a spoon. The trichomes are in the water and the most dense, heavy ones will fall to the bottom of the bowl.

Combine in your glass jar, 3 ounces of drinking alcohol with your ounce of hash oil, or in a 3:1 ratio, according to the strength of your hash oil.  Seal the mixture and put it in the freezer for 6 or more days, shaking a few times per day.  Now store your tincture in your one ounce eye drop bottles.  Before taking, you should first calculate how much thc each dropper, and each drop holds, according to the strength of the hash oil and how much you’ve used.  This method has the most easy method of consumption.  Use the eye dropper to squirt a measured amount of weed tincture under the tongue, hold for half a minute, then swallow it down.  The thc and other cannabinoids will bring health benefits, but the psychoactive ingredients will have less effect because it may not have been activated by heat.  As with any oral consumption, effects come on slow and then goes stronger for longer.  It is important to make sure you know how much cannabinoids you are consuming, and not to re-dose before the effects take hold, which can take as much as one to two hours.
Yes it would work to just decarb during the cooking, but when we lab testing back to back edibles, those made with kief that had been decarbed first has about a 30% higher potency than those made with kief that only decarbed during the cooking process. That’s why I always recommend taking the extra step to decarb BEFORE cooking, even if it will be debarbed during as well.
 In a large bowl mix together peanut butter, canna-butter, sugar, vanilla, and egg. Once everything’s mixed together, begin rolling the dough into little balls about half the size of a golfball and place them on your already prepared baking sheet. For the finishing touches put a bit of sugar in a bowl to dip a fork in, then press the ever so famous criss cross pattern onto your cookie dough balls. All in all, they’re not so different—but they’re definitely not the same. Cannabis oil can be used to make marijuana butter, but not all marijuana butter is made from cannabis oil. While nearly anyone with cooking experience can make marijuana-infused oil or butter, making cannabis oil should be left to the chemists, and while weed and cannabis oil are mostly readily available in legal states, pre-made marijuana butter can be hard to find—leaving both legal residents and those getting their bud on the black market in the same boat: making it at home.
There is no “high” from CBD, although both THC and CBD have many medicinal properties. When you make a butter or oil infusion you are infusing both these cannabinoids (along with many others) into the butter or oil, so yes you would get the benefits of both. How much of each will depend on the plant material you are cooking with and its individual cannabinoid profile. This varies widely from strain to strain. If you are using lab tested cannabis you will have a good idea of what to expect. While you can estimate a THC percentage (my free dosing course teaches you how), CBD is impossible to estimate without a lab test. Not only is the amount of CBD in each strain drastically different, you don’t physically feel the effects of CBD in the same way you do THC. Hope this all makes sense. Cheri

I like this book and Cheri Sicard is like a weed wizard. Very helpful for a medical marijuana patient who is trying to learn to cook with weed. Only problem is I am having a hard time trying to determine the THC level for a tincture I made and the formula for dosing doesn't seem to give me a correct % for the amount of weed used and Everclear alcohol. BTW 95% Everclear is way too strong alcohol content. I would look to a less concentrated alcohol for future tinctures.
How would you recommend carboxylating/activating the cannabinoid that can’t be metabolized without such processes? I read somewhere that the temperature required for that is around 240 F, but I’m unsure about whether or not this would be critical for cooking. I normally make brownies and I suspect that baked goods probably don’t get anywhere near that temperature in the center. I like the idea of having water in with the oil, but I don’t want to limit the efficacy of my oil. Do you think that I could heat the oil to 240 F after I strain It?

Adding water is optional not mandatory. I would not reheat with water at this point. Stain the plant material off, if you haven’t already. If there is a lot of sediment in the bottom you can optionally reheat gently over low heat and further strain through a mesh yogurt strainer to further clarify it, but again it is optional. Will it taste too weedy? That is a personal preference but it should likely be OK, especially if you use it in highly seasoned foods that have lots of other flavors going on (a coconut curry perhaps?). Good luck.
This is a very important, but often overlooked step in the edible baking process. For those who are unfamiliar, the cannabinoids present is your starting material likely exist in their acidic, non-activated form. What does this mean? It means that THCa (‘a’ signifies acid) for instance, maintains many of the therapeutic properties associated with THC but NOT its psychoactive properties. Thus, if you desire the typical ‘high’ associated with edibles, you need to decarboxylate, or activate, your cannabinoids prior to infusing. Although the decarboxylation process begins immediately following the plant’s harvest, it must be accelerated with heat to ensure that all of the cannabinoids have converted from their acidic to their activated forms. For reference, this same process of decarboxylation is what occurs when you light up a one hitter or joint of cannabis.

I can’t say that I’m a huge fan of mayo but working in the food business has shown me that it’s probably the single most popular condiment out there. People put mayo with everything. They’ll put it on subs, dip their fries in it, put it in the calzones and on their pizza. It’s insane how much people like mayo. So here’s this recipe for mayo that will taste awesome and it will also give you a little buzz. The recipe is really easy but just know that you will need cannabis oil so have some of the on hand before you start.

Prior to laboratory testing, attempting to determine the potency of an edible required guesswork, which could lead to unpredictable results.
Once the peaches are off of the grill, let them sit for three minutes to cool down and then cut the halves in to smaller pieces and place them on top of the salad. If you have access to the OG Mango Fruit Slab, you can put the pieces on top at this point. If you have opted to use cannabis olive oil, drizzle some over the top of the salad, toss, and serve!

Here’s what I would do to try to salvage it. Filter the sludge out as much as possible, use a cheesecloth-lined strainer or even better a fine mesh bag like used for making nut milks. Then put the remaining butter and water in a container and put it in the fridge or even freezer. The butter should separate and harden on top. Hopefully, you will still have something you can use. It’s probably not going to taste very good, but you should be able to salvage something.
There are other things that you can add in to this recipe, depending on how you like your caramel. It’s possible to coat the candies with salt or even add dried fruit in to the mixture when making in order to add some extra flavor to your treats. Halloween is coming faster than most people realize so if you’re having a party, these treats are going to be a hit!
Take the sugar, syrup, and water and mix them together in a pot. Set it on the stove over a medium heat and stir them together until they ingredients dissolve. The mixture should begin to boil after a bit. Make sure that all of your ingredients have been mixed well! After the mixture begins to boil, slowly add the color and flavoring to the pot. Your mixture should be heated to about 300 degrees. This part is a little tricky because you have add the tincture very quickly. Speed is necessary at this part in the process because the liquid solidifies as soon as it begins to cool. Once you’ve quickly stirred in the tincture, pour the liquid in to your molds and let them set.

Strain the oil.[5] Do this while the oil is still hot for best results. You can strain the oil using a wire strainer to remove the larger pieces of marijuana. If you still have solids you want to get rid of, strain a second time through a coffee strainer. This will take a lot of time so be careful and patient. You may want to do small batches while you continue to simmer the mixture.
  Cut the avacodos into small chunks so that they’re easier to smash. Place them into a large mixing bowl and with a fork or bean smasher, let the smashing begin. (Smash to desired texture) Next cut the tomatoes, yellow onion, cerano chili, and banana peppers into small squares. Finely chop the beautiful cilantro. Add everything in with the avacodos and mix together lightly.

When you have finished decarbing you will want to do a quick infusion into your oil. A great tip regarding reducing the infusion time is to only infuse for 15 minutes using a double boiler after decarbing, instead of the 3-4 prescribed hours from many cookbooks. Starting out with fully activated cannabis means you not only don’t have to do a long or high heat  infusion, but that you actually shouldn’t to retain all the potency.
Some stoners are too busy to wake and bake so preparing an edible in advance is a really good idea! What better way to start your day then with a medicated muffin! These are absolutely delicious and you can make them exactly the way you like them, including blueberry, and you can glaze them. This recipe is just for the muffins, which you can bake and wrap individually so that you have a guaranteed wake and bake every day.
If there's one message I want to get out there, it's that people need to understand that the typical dose is ten milligrams of THC. If you want to have a good experience, you should aim for that. Buying a 150 milligram brownie doesn't mean you'll have a good time—you most likely will not. Once you understand the basics of dosing, then you can actually have a really enjoyable experience with edibles.
First, use a coffee grinder to turn your herb in to a fine powder. As always, the drier the herb, the better. When the herb is ground up, add it in to the crockpot and add the glycerin. It’s best to use a crockpot that has a “Warm” setting. If the tincture is boiling, more THC will dissipate, creating a lesser effect with the end product. Leave the tincture on warm for 24 hours. Stir it occasionally. You can also test it but BE CAREFUL! Glycerin holds heat in and gets extremely hot! Don’t burn yourself.

You’ll first want to know which family the marijuana you’re cooking with belongs to. “There’s sativa, which is more uplifting, and [gives you] more energy and focus,” Jeff explains. “Indica is the opposite, it’s a much more relaxed feeling. An indica-based strain will make you chill, relaxed. It will give you what people refer to as couch-lock, where you’re pretty much just hanging out and don’t really want to move.”

The dressing can also be used on salads, sandwiches, or any other cool summer snack. It only takes a few hours to make so even the most stoned stoner can prepare and enjoy this medicated ranch dressing.

Combine all your ingredients in a pan on low and heat for 30 minutes.  It’s important to not let the mixture bubble, as this could destroy cannabinoids.  Transfer the mixture to the refrigerator and let sit overnight.  The hash butter will rise to the top.  Remove from water and measure to know how much butter you have and the strength of the butter.  You can then use this hash butter with your recipes, or even just put it on a piece of toast and consume.  Some people greatly enjoy the taste, while others want to just get it down the hatch.  As with all edibles, dosing is important so make sure you measure it carefully, then try a piece and wait two hours before redosing.
Wolf places herself in the last category, but she admitted that her heart is with the hippies. She seemed troubled by the men of the Trichome Institute. Though they were obviously “passionate” about cannabis, she worried that they were a marketing operation. “ ‘Budtender’ classes online!” she moaned. She especially disliked a plan to regularize the grading system for cannabis. “To me, it’s like picking a baby,” Wolf said. “Like saying, ‘Well, you definitely want your baby to be blond, but maybe with green eyes.’ It feels so removed from the community aspect of this business. It’s making it soulless.”
 Fill the cupcake tins with the batter about 2/3 of the way full to leave room for your THC treats to fluff up and be pretty. Put them inside the oven and let them hang out in there for about 17-20 minutes or until completely cooked in the middle. (Poke a toothpick in the middle of the cupcakes to check, if the pick comes out clean with no batter then they’re done) When they’re finished in the oven let them sit for 5-10 minutes to cool. Now it’s time to hand out these yummy marijuana chocolate cupcakes and get couch locked. You says you can’t have you cake and get high too?

Take the muffin pan (spray it with some Pam first so your treats don’t get stuck) and put a cookie’s worth amount of cookie dough at the bottom of each one. Kind of smush them flat so that they cover the bottom. Take a single Reese’s and place it on top of each of the cookies. Finally, pour the brownie mix in to each muffin so that it fills the little cup about halfway or until you’ve used all of the brownie mix. Either one works. The end result can either be a huge treat or a small one, depending on the amount of brownie that you use.

All you need is a bottle of olive oil and of course some sticky-icky and there’s really no limit to what high foods you can make. Savory, sweet, tangy, you name it and canna-oil will help you put a potent touch on it.
Because alcohol extractions are typically used for tinctures, we will focus on fat based extractions for traditional edibles. For increased bioavailability, we suggest using coconut oil, which is high in medium chain triglycerides (MCTs). The reason being that MCTs are small, and easily digested relative to the long chain triglycerides (LCTs) found in most fatty foods (olive oil, canola oil or butter). Unlike other types of fats, MCTs don’t need to be broken down before they’re used for energy, and they don’t require any extra energy to digest or absorb. This makes the use of coconut oil especially helpful for those who suffer from impaired fat digestion and gallbladder issues. Note the MCT oil, which is comprised of 100% MCTs, can also be used.
There are two main ways to smoke hash oil, one is with an oil rig, the other on a spliff or joint.  Smoking hash oil with an oil rig is the same as smoking other wax dabs with a rig.  The basic process is described on our page here: https://www.ncsm.nl/english/best-ways-smoke-wax-dabs  You will need an oil rig, titanium nail, butane torch, and a carb cap.  Super heat the nail, apply the hash oil with the dabber end of your carb cap, cover nail intake with the other end and suck in the smoke.
I have been a few batches of High THC cookies when I started making “vegan” cookies for a few friends.Simply put.I used clarified unsalted butter.Well with little extra moisture,I burnt the bottoms of the 1st batch.So I figured.I would try 1,It fucked me up,But tated burnt.The next batch.I said fuck it & cooked them for less time.BIG DIFFERENCE..In cookies,hey will reach the 350 F temp & you will start burning off your THC.BUT in Brownies,which are thicker & moister,the inside doesn’t reach 350 F,so you don’t burn any THC off…When I’m ready to make cookie ONLY ,I decarb my bud at 240 for 20-30 minutes in a Pyrex (name brand- I use a glass pie pan).COVER with foil.Check at 25mins.Then ever 5 minutes.Do not go over 45 mins.Leave to cool COVERED in the glass pan.THUS when cooking,the bud will finish decarbing.FOR ANYTHING ELSE THRN COOKIES….ITS 240 FOR 30-40 MINS,,CHECKING AT 30 MINUTES,45 TOPS .after 45 minutes,you’re burning it off.Beening doing this this was for over 30yrs.

Start off by preheating your oven to 350 degrees and line sixteen muffin tins with cupcake liners. Using a small bowl, combine the baking powder, flour, salt, ginger, cinnamon, baking powder, cloves, keif or hash, and nutmeg. Stir until it’s well combined and the mixture is smooth. Beat together the melted butter, brown sugar, molasses, milk, and eggs until they are well blended in a separate bowl. Put the cupcakes in the preheated oven and let them cook for 15-18 minutes. Be sure to test them with a toothpick to make sure that they are cooked all the way through. Let the cupcakes cool before frosting them to be sure the frosting isn’t too runny.

I say hopefully because lecithin will makes fats bind to the water, which is not what you want in this instance. I never use lecithin when making ordinary infused butter, I don’t see a reason. Without the lecithin in the mix it would be no problem, but not sure how this will affect it. Please let us know!

Healthy eating is important in the life of a stoner! Stir fry has always been a favorite of mine and now you can make it medicated! It’s a far cry from the food we made in Home Ec in middle school but it tastes even better, now that we’re old enough not to burn the veggies to the pan. You can add in veggies or meats if you feel like it and of course, more bud if you feel inclined. Just always remember that eating cannabis is much different than smoking cannabis and you should always know your tolerance before eating too much!
Still, the public’s appetite for shows about weed chefs — just like the public’s appetite for weed — may be outpacing the conservative sensibilities of the people making decisions. Food Network, among other major players, has yet to touch the subject of cooking with the federally illegal drug, so the Rachael Ray of pot cuisine is more likely to come out of an unconventional platform like California startup Prohbtd, which currently produces a cannabis-infused cooking web series called Pot Pie, hosted by the charming Brandin LaShea. “Having a digital platform is the new wave,” says LaShea, who will feature infused dishes on her next season. “I have freedom that I don’t think I’d have at a large network.”

Most oils come in bottles with small pipettes or syringes with measurements on them. Remember that it takes as long as 1-2 hours for effects to kick in, and by taking another dose before the height of the first effects, you’re risking some side effects. If the oils are in capsule format, measurement is much easier as you just take the recommended amount of capsules throughout your day.

The effects of the weed lollipop are just as good as those of baked weed, but it comes on even slower, over an hour or two, and lasts even longer. Since it takes a while to dissolve the lollipop, you may be able to suck a lollipop for an hour, then immediately have another. You won’t have to worry about dosing because the time it takes to consume the lollipop will force you to be unable to overdose, unless of course you chew the lollipop rather than sucking. So, suck the weed lollipop, let it take at least an hour, and you can have another while waiting for the effects to begin over the next hour.
As we discussed earlier, kief and hash can range from dry and crumbly to sticky and gummy.  Many smokers prefer the latter, but for cooking purposes, the dry, crumbly, powdery stuff is often easiest to work with because it is easy to grind which then allows you to stir the fine powder into all kinds of foods, something impossible to do with the gummy type of hash.  If you plan on dissolving the hash in a hot liquid, however, either type will work fine. Bake these little cakes in a muffin pan. I don’t know if they make little mini cake pans. But if they do, use those. When I make a butter I want people to know there’s weed in it I want it to be green I wanted to be smelly and I wanted to taste like something , I think personally you’re confusing the details of *smoking weed with the details of *eating weed yes chloroform and all that other stuff you mentioned is very bad when it comes to smoking like if you were making a hash or an extract you would definitely want to use a method that results in fewer of these but when it comes to cooking those things are good for you they have tremendous health value and you’re only screwing Yourself by cutting out the flavor and the health benefits. you’re coming across like some kind of a Stoner burn out the way your talking about this stuff .

Oils go rancid whether infused or not and exposure to light and heat can increase this. You are likely safe for 2 to 3 months at least. Store for 6 months or more int he freezer, then just remove the amounts you need when you need it. BUT be cautious that you have removed ALL the moisture after infusing. I have had coconut oil grow mold, even in the fridge, as I did not get ALL the water out.
I am a teetotaler, I don't drink, smoke or do drugs, but I also have no problem with other people doing whatever they want with their own bodies. I also consider myself to be a fairly competent chef, and combined with the fact that this book was only $3, I thought it might be an interesting read. Additionally, my grandfather died from wasting syndrome secondary to pulmonary fibrosis; had medical marijuana been available he probably would have lived several years longer and I'd have likely needed to learn how to prepare medicinal edibles.
Remove the dough from the food processor and wrap it in plastic. Place the dough in the refrigerator until it is cold all the way through. Not only that, but since you’ll have leftover dough, you can make smaller, shapeless crackers that are also medicated.
This product may be applied to an “oil rig” for the highest intensity medication possible. An oil rig is a device used much like a traditional water pipe, or bong, which uses a heated element, usually titanium or quartz, to heat up the High CBD Hash Oil to a critical temperature. The oil is vaporized, channeled through water filtration for cooling, and inhaled by the user in a large concentration. This produces a less-bodied smoke that is not as thick as cannabis-plant smoke but equally expansive in the lungs and cough inducing.

No! That would be disastrous. Hash and kief are NOTHING like flour. You can make your regular cookie recipe with the regular amount of flour and simply stir in an appropriate amount of finely ground decarboxylated kief or hash that will give you the dose you are seeking into your batter and bake as usual. But hash and kief are by no means a substitute for flour.
Place egg yolks, remaining 1/4 cup sugar, and salt in a small bowl and whisk until egg yolks are thick and pale yellow.  Whisking vigorously to prevent the eggs from scrambling, whisk in about 1/2 cup of the warm milk mixture.  Continue whisking in milk mixture, about 1/2 cup at a time until it is all incorporated..  Return to heat and cook over medium low stirring constantly, until it starts to thicken.  Do not boil, mixture should only reach about 185 degrees F (if you have a thermometer, if not heat until very hot).  Remove from heat, place in a bowl, cover and chill in the refrigerator until very cold, at least 6 hours.
Cannabis Oil – Slow Cooker  Method (best choice): Add oil, marijuana plant material, and water to the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 to 8 hours.  I know some cooks who cook their oil for as much as 2 or 3 days in the slow cooker.  Feel free to do so if you choose.  It seems like overkill to me and after having tested longer cooking times, I found no improvement in quality or potency.  In fact, I noticed a stronger herbal flavor and not much else.  You can actually cook for less time, just make sure your mixture has time to come to a full simmer.
Using oils under the tongue (holding it there for a minute to let them sink in) will provide the quickest effects, but most will still only kick in from 1-2 hours from the time you take it – and can last for as long as 6-10 hours in some cases. The initial onset and duration of cannabis oil is much longer than vaping or smoking because it’s absorbed through the digestive system and bloodstream, and it’s not recommended to take a second dose (whether edible or sublingual) until 4 solid hours have gone by.
There’s so many stoners that love to wake and bake. The only thing that can be added to an awesome morning smoke session to make it better is coffee. Stoners love their coffee. What happens if you’re rushing though and you have to make a choice? Not anymore. Following this short recipe will provide you with the most delicious medicated coffee drink for those busy days!

Heat up your grill on low/medium heat and cut your peach in half. Coat the fruit with the cannabis coconut oil that you have and sprinkle cinnamon over the halves. Put a piece of tinfoil on the grill and once it is warm enough, place the peaches on for about five minutes. They should be warm but not too hot. If they get too hot, they will turn to mush so be careful to keep an eye on them. While the peaches are grilling, you can quickly gather the ingredients for the balsamic vinaigrette. Put all of the greens in a large bowl and top it with the blackberries.


Hello from the Yukon Territory. I’m a senior citizen and relatively new to this edibles game. I’ve started growing my own, outdoors, without too much fanfare. My plants (about 1/2 doz) make a few buds, that are far from high quality. All I do is dry my plants, grind them up in a food processor till close to the consistency of flour, and make small cookies. I use a half teaspoon for measuring the batter–cute little green ovals. My niece and I call them “beetles”. I’m happy with the buzz I get, and it helps with a few aches and pains I get from my senior age, but reading here and elsewhere, I see there is a lot more to the science behind it all. I’m also realizing that a lot of you may find it perhaps crude that I just cook with the pot the way I do, but I’m happy with the simplicity, and will probably continue with this method. However, do I deduce correctly, that my finished product will be better if I heat my dried and ground pot first in the oven, for 20 minutes at 250 degrees, before I make my beetles?
Performing the infusion at 150degF helps get the THCa, CBDa, and the rest of the cannabinoids into the oil. But that temp is too low to break up the THCa into THC and CO2. So I am able to do the decarb during baking. I find a brownie mix that needs 1/2 cup oil (which works for the proportions of ingredients that I use) and bake the brownies at 240degF for 1 hour 10 minues. (The extra 10 minutes just seems to help bake the brownies…but isn’t long enough to affect the decarbing “thermal history”).
