Healthy eating is important in the life of a stoner! Stir fry has always been a favorite of mine and now you can make it medicated! It’s a far cry from the food we made in Home Ec in middle school but it tastes even better, now that we’re old enough not to burn the veggies to the pan. You can add in veggies or meats if you feel like it and of course, more bud if you feel inclined. Just always remember that eating cannabis is much different than smoking cannabis and you should always know your tolerance before eating too much!

These recipes are so obviously yummy that I bought the book even though medication is not a goal for my cooking. The recipes are sophisticated but not overly complicated. Instructions are crystal clear in an accessible and easy-to-use visual and written style. The cannabis specific tips and basic methods and recipes are clearly just what the doctor ordered for anyone wanting to make medicated dishes that taste wonderful. This book full of recipes is good enough to stand alone, and light years beyond the miserable excuses for brownies that used to be the limit in this category. The recipes I made were both easy and delicious.
A friend lab tested a batch of brownies that had plain kief stirred into the batter as opposed to kief that had been first decarboxylated. He found the latter to be about 30% more potent. It’s easy to do, just put your kief or hash in an oven proof dish and heat for about 20 minutes at 250 degrees F. Remove from oven, cool and you are ready to use for cooking.
You can combine the amount of tablespoons of infused-coconut oil you wish to consume based on the above formula with plain coconut oil to fill out any recipe that calls for oil. Brownies are easy because they usually call for 1/3 cup oil and may be divided and stored for later consumption. The above recipe of 1/3 cup infused-oil into 12 brownies would yield about 83mg cannabinoids per brownie.
Okay so this is the first time that I made tincture so this recipe isn’t perfect. I’m working on making it better but keep in mind that you can change the above recipe to see how you see fit. You can definitely add more marijuana and glycerin. Adjust the recipe to your liking. I got 11 fl oz of tincture from this recipe. Next time, I plan on using 32 fl oz glycerin with 28 grams of actual bud. This way, the tincture should be a little bit stronger.
Performing the infusion at 150degF helps get the THCa, CBDa, and the rest of the cannabinoids into the oil. But that temp is too low to break up the THCa into THC and CO2. So I am able to do the decarb during baking. I find a brownie mix that needs 1/2 cup oil (which works for the proportions of ingredients that I use) and bake the brownies at 240degF for 1 hour 10 minues. (The extra 10 minutes just seems to help bake the brownies…but isn’t long enough to affect the decarbing “thermal history”).
I make herbal oils for lotions etc, massage oils. I use a Mason jar, or Ball Jar to heat the oil. They are tempered and won’t crack. The direction here are pretty accurate. The slow cooker method is probably the easiest.,. less over heating and doesn’t need watching over every hour. you have to experiment. The butter is easy, but again, you have to decarbolize and stand over so it doesn’t burn. I just prefer to roll and smoke. I am also in my 60’s and have been smoking since I was 14. My dad moved the family to MIami in 68. It was one big party every day. Hard not to be caught up in other drugs that were everywhere.

"Veteran High Times writer McDonough offers this sampler of 50 mind-fogging munchies. There is probably no correlation between the known effects of marijuana and the fact that it has taken this classic counterculture magazine 38 years to get around to publishing a cookbook. Still, when an acknowledgement page credits folks with names like Evan Budman and Easy Bake Dave, one can almost smell the laid-back vibe emanating from this collection of "stoner-style cuisine." The 12-page introduction includes a brief paragraph on what to do should one's meal consumption result in a "total freak-out," but, more importantly, brings home the point that weed's active ingredients are fat-soluble and at their potent peak when in an oily blend. Thus, before launching into the creation of some ganja guacamole, Texas cannabis chili, or Pineapple Express upside-down cake one should whip up one of the spreads presented in the first chapter, such as cannabutter or cannabis-infused mayonnaise. Proper respect is paid to the classic pot brownie, with a page devoted to its history and a recipe involving a double boiler and much stirring. A section on cocktails gilds the lily with offerings like the Jamaican me crazy, which calls for cannabis-infused dark rum. But the book's highlight is its chapter of holiday fare, featuring a THC turkey injected with a "magic marinade" that, in conjunction with tryptophan, could mellow out the harshest of family Thanksgivings."
Wolf’s own child-rearing was complicated by health issues. One day in the early eighties, not long after she’d had her first baby, she was at Barneys, shopping with a friend, when she began to feel dizzy. She woke up hours later, at home. “I couldn’t remember anything.” (She’d passed out on the floor of the tie department, and the friend had taken her home in a cab.) Terrified, she saw a doctor, who determined that she’d had a seizure. She was given a diagnosis of epilepsy, and began taking the anti-convulsant Tegretol. It controlled the seizures, but left her with unpleasant side effects: nausea, headaches, exhaustion. Trying to get pregnant for a second time, she went off the drug periodically, which led to seven or eight seizures a week.
Pour 12 doses of cannabis oil into a measuring cup at least 1 cup in size. Once the cannabis oil has been added, top it up with the melted coconut oil until you have a total of 3/4 cup of coconut oil and cannabis oil combined. Whisk the cannabis-coconut oil combination thoroughly to make sure that the cannabis has been evenly distributed into the coconut oil. This is a very important step to ensure that each muffin has equal doses of cannabis. Add the cannabis-coconut oil combination to the wet ingredients (large bowl) and whisk together ingredients, making sure to evenly mix the cannabis-coconut oil into the wet ingredients.
Even if marijuana is legal in your state, do not assume it is legal in surrounding states or legal for you to consume. Also do not assume that law enforcement had no authority to arrest you for possession. Although in the United States pot consumption may be legal at the state level, it is still illegal under federal law. Furthermore, strong regulations exist at all levels. Consult your local law enforcement officials for more information about your area's marijuana regulations.
Process:In a small mason jar mix in 1 gram High CBD Hash Oil to 3 fl. oz. of high-proof alcohol. Seal lid on the jar and shake vigorously. Place mixture into freezer. Leave for a minimum of 5 days shaking the jar twice daily and placing back in the freezer. Using a coffee filter and a separate container, strain the liquid removing any impurities (there should be very little solids). Pour the tincture into the 1 fl. oz. eyedroppers.
Andrea Drummer is a Los Angeles-based culinary school grad and private chef specializing in cannabis cooking. Maybe because of her culinary training, the book is short on the science of cooking with cannabis and long on recipes, including some fun ones such as kimchi fried rice and escargot in puff pastry. This is both good and bad, as the recipes for infused stock, pasta dough and mayonnaise are comforting for home cooks, but the book doesn’t give much information about how to work with or use cannabis. (There’s also no index, which is frustrating.) Although Drummer gives bud pairings, as if she’s talking about a good Cabernet, decarboxylation isn’t even mentioned; recipes simply call for grams of “cannabis product.” This assumes a lot, and unless you’re already versed in this kind of cooking, you’ll need outside reference in order to use this one properly.
