Your recipe will need to contain either a fat or an oil-based ingredient that can be infused with the cannabis concentrate. Such fats include butter, ghee, lard, shortening and other vegetable or nut oils. If your recipe does not list a “fat” ingredient, you can dilute the cannabis concentrate in a small amount of your favorite spirits: vodka, rum, cognac, etc.

The Dope Cup was held on a Sunday. Laurie & MaryJane had entered its brownies and almond bites in the competition. The Wolfs arrived at 10 p.m., three hours after the event started, because, as Laurie told me, “everybody’s late in this business.” The atmosphere was part county fair, part tent revival. A rap group, the Pharcyde, performed on a stage, and reps from marijuana businesses had set up booths. Wolf mingled with the crowd, which was mostly young and male. There were the seven scruffy dudes from 7 Points Oregon, the boutique growers whose product she’d used at her dinner party, and there was a purchasing agent from a dispensary called Canna-Daddy’s, who was holding a twenty-three-inch blunt. He wrapped Wolf in a bear hug. “Laurie’s the nicest lady I’ve ever met,” he told me.
The Bitchin’ Kitchen’s tenants represented a cross-section of this world. There was a businessman who had raised venture-capital funds to start a candy operation, and a married couple from Ohio who had saved their money and moved to Oregon to start a strain-specific cookie company called Titan’s Kind. Then there was the facility’s owner, a no-nonsense middle-aged woman named Nancy Jones, who started out as a living-room farmer with six plants. “I’ve been growing for nineteen years,” she told me. She is now involved in several enterprises, including Badass Dabs, which makes concentrates and extracts. She handed me a sample of her newest product: a vaginal suppository, which treats pain from menstrual cramps or endometriosis. It looked like a large vitamin. “It’s fifty milligrams of THC, seven milligrams of CBD, and coconut oil and beeswax. All organic,” she said.

Before you start baking or cooking, you want to calculate the potency of the edibles you plan on making. It is easy to calculate, especially if you know the THC potency of your concentrate (see above to calculate your total THC). A full gram (1000mg) of concentrate with 65% THC is 650 mg of THC in your wax. In a half gram (500mg) with 65% THC you will have 350mg of THC.

The daughter of legendary singer and songwriter, Bob Marley, penned this compilation of recipes that fits right in with Marley Natural’s clean, green, holistic lifestyle brand. It gives readers the chance to try their hands at making some of her family’s favorite (mostly vegetarian) Jamaican recipes. Intimate stories of her life growing up on the island, insight into how she includes cannabis in her personal wellness routine, and directions for infused beauty treatments accompany this robust collection of recipes.

I am not sure as I do not use lecithin and see no reason to use it when infusing oil as lecithin helps bind water and oil and when infusing coconut oil you are binding fat to fat. I am doing more research into lecithin now and there will be a feature on it soon. There are certain cooking application where I could see it being useful, but for infusing oil and butter, I do not see that it is necessary, unless I uncover something in further research that I haven’t already.
Oregon, where Wolf lives, legalized recreational marijuana in 2014. Four more states followed suit in last fall’s election: California, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Maine. More than twenty per cent of Americans now live in states where recreational weed is legal. President Trump’s appointee for Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, is an opponent of marijuana and is widely seen as a threat to the industry. But over the long term, proponents argue, the country is on a path toward legalization. (Last week, Canada’s Prime Minister unveiled a bill, which is expected to pass, legalizing recreational marijuana in that country.) Amy Margolis, Wolf’s lawyer and one of Oregon’s most prominent cannabis advocates, said, “I think we’re seeing an extremely rapid sea change in the way people perceive the safety of cannabis use and the legalization process. There are other issues that have followed the same trajectory, like gay rights—all of a sudden you see the switch flip.”
You’ll first want to know which family the marijuana you’re cooking with belongs to. “There’s sativa, which is more uplifting, and [gives you] more energy and focus,” Jeff explains. “Indica is the opposite, it’s a much more relaxed feeling. An indica-based strain will make you chill, relaxed. It will give you what people refer to as couch-lock, where you’re pretty much just hanging out and don’t really want to move.”
In a small bowl mix together the canna-oil, honey, balsamic venegar, and 1/2 of the lemon juice. Once the vegetables are done cooking, remove from the oven and let cool for 3-5 minutes then pour the beautiful canna-oil mix on top and add the grated parmesean. Serve yourself up a heaping portion and see just how happy these veggies make you feel… And thats how to make roasted vegetables with marijuana, enjoy!
First, take the leaves and stems in to the jug. Use as much of the cannabis as possible. This recipe is very good for growers who are looking to recycle all of their plants. Take the fruit and squeeze the juice out, adding it to the jug. Be sure to use fresh fruit. The canned stuff just doesn’t taste the same. On your stove, boil 3 quarts of water. Be sure to use a non aluminum pan , as well as non stick. Dissolve the sugar/honey mix in to the water. Once it’s fully dissolved, pour the mix in to the jug, place the cap on tightly and shake well. Set the jug aside to cool after loosening the cap. Using warm water, dissolve the yeast cake completely and then check to see if the water in the jug has cooled. If it has, pour in the yeast mixture in with the water, making sure to leave room at the top. Add in about two inches of cool water, leaving enough room to cover the top with the cap loosely. Put the jug somewhere dark and let it sit for about two weeks. Every so often, remove the cap and push the contents of the jug down with a wooden spoon. Remember to loosely close the top after. Sometimes, liquid will spill over. Be sure to wipe it if so. This process should last about two weeks. Add in small amounts of cool water every few days and remember to keep pushing the contents down. When two weeks have passed, you can begin to see if the fermentation process has completed. Tilt the jug and if no bubbles rise from the bottom of the jug, it’s done. Do not shake the contents o the jug.
This is a slightly healthier snack that stoners can enjoy… And get stoned while eating it as well! Toasted bananas aren’t nearly as bad for you as pizza so if you’re looking to stay a bit healthier, this medible is highly recommended for you.  Cut the avacodos into small chunks so that they’re easier to smash. Place them into a large mixing bowl and with a fork or bean smasher, let the smashing begin. (Smash to desired texture) Next cut the tomatoes, yellow onion, cerano chili, and banana peppers into small squares. Finely chop the beautiful cilantro. Add everything in with the avacodos and mix together lightly.
Alright I worded that poorly really I just take offense to people not liking the taste of cannabis , the way I see it if you don’t like the taste of Mary Jane get the fudge out! ” it’s funny because I often make fudge…:) so you’re saying I should decarb a finished product like it’s already been dried and cured and all that good stuff it would benefit me to de-carb that? And thanks for fast reply!

This product may be applied to an “oil rig” for the highest intensity medication possible. An oil rig is a device used much like a traditional water pipe, or bong, which uses a heated element, usually titanium or quartz, to heat up the High CBD Hash Oil to a critical temperature. The oil is vaporized, channeled through water filtration for cooling, and inhaled by the user in a large concentration. This produces a less-bodied smoke that is not as thick as cannabis-plant smoke but equally expansive in the lungs and cough inducing.

*Note that the total amount of cannabis oil will vary by individual. Optimal dose is determined through guidance from a qualified healthcare professional. If the infused oil is particularly strong, start with half of the recommended dose and increase the amount slowly. Always consult your physician should you have any questions when baking your own cannabis edibles. Keep these muffins safely out of reach of children, pets or anyone else who should not be using them. Make sure that they are properly marked and stored away securely. When baking with cannabis, remember to always start low and go slow.
I am not confusing anything and you can choose to “take offense” all you like, but the FACT is MOST people do not like the taste of weed in their food. I get emails from people every day and talk to the public about this day in and day out at my classes, and most people cite flavor as one of the big reasons they do not like edibles. If you like the taste, have a party, nobody is stopping you, it is very easy to make medibles that taste like weed. But this is NOT the effect most people are going for. You can get plenty of medicinal effects without tasting a prominent flavor of cannabis, and your personal preferences aside, this is what the majority of cannabis cooks are looking for.

howdy, I don,t mean to be rude but your culinary skills seem to out way your math skills if you use decent weed 20 percent. In a perfect world that would yield 5600 milligrams thc/cbds & other goodies. Point is those 56 cookies would be 100-milligram dose per cookie but because it’s not a perfect world the dose would be from the 80,s to low 100,s milligram per cookie. Which is a high dose most people should start with 10 milligrams to 20 milligrams once you got your sweet spot you will find pain relive or just a great time!

Enjoy ur site. I like the mason jar technique. I bought a cold brew coffee filter that inserts into the larger mason jar. Put ur weed into the inside of the strainer filter. Holds a oz or more. Put whatever oil or butter into mason jar with water. For the lid of mason jar I took a skinny nail and made 2 very small holes into the top. Now no need to burp the jar. The build up has a place to escape. Next I put the mason jar into my pot fill it with water enough to come up past my material level …then put my sous vide into the pot. I set my temp at 190 and set my timer for 3 to 6 hours. Does pretty damn good. I do restrain what’s in the filter and run hot water over it. The crock is also a preferred choice. I own a magical butter, a levo…save ur money folks they are glorified crock pots with a hefty price tag.!! Save ur $$ and get yourself some flower or other herb source. The ardent is good, just a little on the small side and the tcheck is also good to have. It takes the guess work out. Also if possible I would like to see a good easy way to infuse chocolate, milk and white and a easy potent hard candy. You do a great job on bringing Info, good solid info to the masses. Today here in Philly I saw on the news they are finally going to put recreational on the table for discussion we do have medical. They are also supposed to discuss reducing sentences for those who have been convicted. Hope to see this soon. Anywho yada…have a great day and keep it coming…
When your cannaoil or cannabutter is done infusing, remove any plant matter by carefully straining it through cheesecloth (available in the cooking section of stores like Target or Walmart) or a coffee filter. Pour your infusion into a container and you’re done! Be sure to put your cannabutter in the fridge to harden, but cannaoils are fine to store on the counter. The most important thing is to keep it in an airtight container (mason jars work great) in a cool, dark space.

If you are a regular edible consumer or dabber and have a high THC tolerance, you can increase the potency per serving by using less butter. If you mix one gram of BHO with 70 percent THC potency into 1/2-cup butter (48 half-teaspoons), each serving has 14.6mg THC.  If the same 70 percent potency BHO is blended into 1/4-cup butter (24 half-teaspoons), each serving would have 29.2mg THC — making an extra-strong dose.
The benefits of marijuana for treating symptoms of severe illnesses are immeasurable. People with AIDS, cancer, neurological issues, arthritis, anxiety, depression, glaucoma, and many other illnesses are turning to cannabis to avoid the powerful and unpleasant side effects that often come with traditional medications. An easy way to incorporate cannabis into your life is to include it in your everyday diet.

If using whole buds or trim, make sure that the material is ground up relatively fine. We prefer to use a traditional grinder as opposed to a food processor or blender, as they typically pulverize the starting material. If using hash that has greased up or congealed into a sticky ball, attempt to break up the hash into smaller pieces; the goal being to increase the exposed surface area.

Fresh vibrant veggies with a bit of spice and heat means tasty salsa. There are so many combinations you can put together, this being one of the greater ones. Creating cannabutter or cannaoil at home is a simple process no matter which oil you choose. The trickiest part can be getting the ratio of oil to bud just right. A common canna oil ratio is 1 cup of oil to 1 ounce of ground marijuana. For cannabutter, your ratio would be 1 pound of butter to 1 ounce of weed. Although widely used for many years, the need for so much cannabis in your recipe is primarily due to the high cannabinoid loss that comes with attempting to decarboxylate (or activate) during infusion. An ounce of flower testing at 18% THCa decarbed in your Ardent Decarboxylator will yield approximately 5,040mg of THC!
Remove the dough from the fridge and let it heat up for a few minutes before rolling it. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Flour a flat surface and roll the dough until it is 1/8th of an inch thick. Stick the dough back in the fridge for about 5 minutes. This will make it easier to cut the cookies out with your gingerbread (or whatever shape) cutter. Cut out your little gingerbread people and place them on an ungreased baking sheet. Stick them in the over until they are crisp, but not crispy. They should be a really nice gold color. Probably around 10 minutes or so. Take the cookies out and let them cool. Proceed to decorate them how you’d like!

Support for legalized marijuana has increased exponentially over the last couple of decades. According to the Pew Research Center, 61 percent of Americans now support legalization, compared to just 31 percent in 2000. In the West, weed is a way of life: Recreational use is legal in Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Nevada and Alaska. And as legalization spreads to other states – it’s on the ballot in Michigan this November – many expect other entrepreneurs to lean on the example set by innovative Westerners.
When I arrived at Wolf’s house for dinner, she was puttering around the kitchen. The rest of the Wolf family—which is also a kind of professional support team—congregated in the living room. Laurie’s husband, Bruce, is a commercial photographer who takes all the pictures for his wife’s columns. Their adult son, Nick, works at an education startup, but his wife, Mary, a thirty-two-year-old Oklahoman, is Wolf’s business partner. She helps run their baked-goods operation, which sells a line of edibles under the name Laurie & MaryJane. Bruce made a joke about the family business: “They call us the Wolf Cartel.”
Step 10: After about 5 hours, the butter will solidify and some of the water will turn to ice. Take each container one by one over to the sink, take off the lid, and with one hand supporting the ice block, turn container upside down and release. Some water will come pouring out, and the ice just needs to be scraped away from the main butter block. You should be left with a smooth, round slab of light green butter.
Also, remember that you do not have to use just the primo bud. You can also extract cannabinoids from shake, stems, leaves, and trim. Shake is the leftover pieces at the bottom of your bag that frequently contain a mix of several kinds of cannabis. Commercial kitchens, especially in the United States, frequently use mixed bud for their cooking. If you can find it, consider this option. Save the primo stuff for smoking!
