I make lozenges using kief, which are brought up to 300 degrees over the course of 40 minutes to make into candy. Not fat or alcohol used, only sugar and corn syrup. Curious about making simple syrup for sodas the same way. Amy thoughts about temp/time needed to decarb kief in a recipe itself so I can avoid a decarb step? Wondering if boiling in a simple syrup (so around 220 degrees) for 5-10 minutes would do it
 In a large bowl mix together peanut butter, canna-butter, sugar, vanilla, and egg. Once everything’s mixed together, begin rolling the dough into little balls about half the size of a golfball and place them on your already prepared baking sheet. For the finishing touches put a bit of sugar in a bowl to dip a fork in, then press the ever so famous criss cross pattern onto your cookie dough balls. This is my first batch. I used 1oz manicured ground cured bud in 1lb of butter. I put both in a slow cooker plus a cup of water. I set the cooker to the lowest temp for the longest time. Next day, I poured the butter & bud (water evaporated) through a tea strainer into a pyrex measuring cup. I had no cheesecloth and I suspect I’ll want to strain the cannabutter again before I put it in (Cook’s Illustrated Classic) Brownies. We will make the brownies next week. Wish us well.
This might sound real “back alley-ish” but use a drop…. literally a drop of canna-oil on a half teaspoon of olive oil and heat it over a candle. Once the oils heat up and you start to smell the thc, let it cool down slightly and then slowly drink it, drop it under your tongue. This taste funny but it’s worth it. I was high af for hours…munchies and everything.

First, as always, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and be sure to put a center rack in the oven. Grease a 10x3in Bundt pan and sprinkle flour all over it. This will prevent the cake from sticking to the inside of the pan once it’s finished. You don’t want the cake to get stuck. It’ll make a mess and you will ruin your cake. It is also important that you leave all of your ingredients sitting out at room temp for at least 40 minutes before you start baking. This includes the eggs, buttermilk, and butter.

Enjoy ur site. I like the mason jar technique. I bought a cold brew coffee filter that inserts into the larger mason jar. Put ur weed into the inside of the strainer filter. Holds a oz or more. Put whatever oil or butter into mason jar with water. For the lid of mason jar I took a skinny nail and made 2 very small holes into the top. Now no need to burp the jar. The build up has a place to escape. Next I put the mason jar into my pot fill it with water enough to come up past my material level …then put my sous vide into the pot. I set my temp at 190 and set my timer for 3 to 6 hours. Does pretty damn good. I do restrain what’s in the filter and run hot water over it. The crock is also a preferred choice. I own a magical butter, a levo…save ur money folks they are glorified crock pots with a hefty price tag.!! Save ur $$ and get yourself some flower or other herb source. The ardent is good, just a little on the small side and the tcheck is also good to have. It takes the guess work out. Also if possible I would like to see a good easy way to infuse chocolate, milk and white and a easy potent hard candy. You do a great job on bringing Info, good solid info to the masses. Today here in Philly I saw on the news they are finally going to put recreational on the table for discussion we do have medical. Oils go rancid whether infused or not and exposure to light and heat can increase this. You are likely safe for 2 to 3 months at least. Store for 6 months or more int he freezer, then just remove the amounts you need when you need it. BUT be cautious that you have removed ALL the moisture after infusing. I have had coconut oil grow mold, even in the fridge, as I did not get ALL the water out.

According to the Arcview Group, a market-research firm, the legal-marijuana business in Canada and the United States did almost seven billion dollars in sales last year. Arcview estimates that the industry will grow to more than twenty-two billion dollars by 2020. These profits have brought innovation. Cannabis can now be vaporized, absorbed under the tongue, or smoked in a hyper-concentrated form, a process known as dabbing. Edibles—a category that used to begin and end with the bone-dry pot brownie, served in a college dorm room—have been undergoing a particularly marked revolution. The finer dispensaries in Boulder now sell cannabis-infused candy, breath sprays, spritzers, and savory foods, from bacon to smoked salmon. In Los Angeles, thrill-seekers are paying as much as five hundred dollars a head to have a cannabis chef cater multicourse meals, pairing different cannabis strains with their culinary complements (heirloom-tomato bisque infused with a lemony Sour Diesel, for example).
By the time you finish mixing together your marijuana/egg/food coloring mix, the ham that’s been cooking should be done. Remember to keep an eye on it while mixing up the eggs as well, to make sure that it doesn’t burn. When the ham has finished cooking to your liking, pour the eggs over the ham in the frying pan. Continue to cook the eggs and ham together until the eggs are scrambled (it shouldn’t take too long). Serve up your green eggs and ham with some toast (preferably with medicated butter or jelly on top!) and enjoy your holiday!
Wolf’s mixed nuts have had a lot of traction. She adapted them from a Danny Meyer recipe and added infused coconut oil, a staple in her kitchen because it can also be used topically, “so you’re getting more bang for your buck.” (An elderly friend of Wolf’s rubs it on his hands to treat his rheumatoid arthritis.) Wolf’s newest book, “Cooking with Cannabis,” emphasizes comfort foods like mac and cheese and meatloaf. There’s a chapter called “Recipes for One,” intended for solo eaters. “It’s great to be able to make yourself ramen,” she said. (The cannabis goes in the broth, mixed with sesame oil.)
If you are starting out with kief or concentrate, you can even further shorten the infusion by mixing the decarbed concentrate with your oil/butter over a double boiler for only a couple of minutes to mix them well. (Even cooler, you can always incorporate the actual flower or concentrate into dishes without infusing, whether that be simply mixing it in with a room temperature butter, sprinkling it on top of lasagna, or adding it to any other food you might be in the mood for!)

One of my good friends sent me this recipe and it looks really delicious actually. I don’t tend to like hummus but I would definitely recommend trying this recipe out if you’re looking for something new to try. Not only that but hummus has amazing health benefits, including high amounts of fiber and protein. Since hummus also contains beans, hummus has the potential to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of cancer. If you’re looking for a new healthy sandwich spread or chip dip, give this hummus a shot (it’ll also get you stoned so if it doesn’t taste that great, at least it’ll have a good effect).
Using cannabis as a medicine begins with understanding the basic science of decarboxylation, and why it is a crucial process in making edibles, tinctures and topical treatments. To get the full medicinal value out of your cannabis, it needs to be heated to a temperature that is just not possible to obtain in the human digestive system. The major downside of decarboxylating is that some of the more volatile terpenes (and other aromatics) that give the plant its signature aroma and flavor are lost during the process. Adding an equal amount of raw material to the decarboxylated materials may improve the taste and/or smell of your creations, but learning how to properly decarboxylate cannabis from the get-go will save you a lot of time, energy, money and product when cooking with cannabis.

I am always asked what kind of oil is best to infuse.  That depends what you are going to use it for.  A neutral oil like canola, grapeseed, or vegetable oil is most versatile as you can use it most any recipe calling for oil.  For additional flavor elements, olive oil is a great choice.  You can even infuse solid at room temperature fats like coconut oil or vegetable shortening.  Use whatever works best for what you are planning to cook with it.

Great Thread Cannabis Cheri. I have a question. My lady didn’t agree with me cook a batch of butter and oil. So I had to shut down after cook 3 to for hours. I put the oil and butter in mAson jars. They have been out going on 24Hrs and stil haven’t been strained. Can the butter and oil still be used if reheated and strained? Thank you for your help and response.

Unlike inhaling cannabis, where cannabinoids enter the body through the lungs, edibles introduce cannabinoids through the gastrointestinal tract, resulting in long-lasting and intensified effects. The intensity level varies depending on the dose, the type of cannabis product used, your own body and even how much other food you’ve eaten, as the effects can be stronger on an empty stomach. Depending on how the body metabolizes the cannabis, it can take between 30 minutes and two full hours before the you notice effects. We recommend not consuming more than your initial dose before the entire two-hour window has passed to ensure you don’t over-medicate. The oral consumption of cannabis is one of the strongest ways to take your medical cannabis and it’s very easy to overdo it, especially when just starting out.
“I cook for a lot of sick people out there,” he says. “I don’t charge to do this. They acquire the cannabis, and I’ll go there and cook a meal for them. The most important thing is, when I go and cook, I teach them how to do it themselves. Because I can’t feed everybody on a constant basis, and for a lot of people, this is not recreational. I have made cannabis-infused butter many times with inconsistent results. I always start with a ration of 454g of unsalted butter and 28 grams of cannabis. I boil 6 cups of water or so then add the butter and the ground cannabis (i grind it by hand using a manual grinder) and reduce heat, letting it simmer for 3-5 hours. Strain through a cheese cloth and let cool over night.
Combine oil and cannabis in your double-boiler or slow cooker, and heat the two together on low or warm for a few hours. This allows for decarboxylation (activation of THC) without scorching (which destroys the active ingredients). Cooking can be done a variety of ways: in a slow cooker on low for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally; in a double-boiler on low for at least 6 hours (8 is better), stirring occasionally; or in a simple saucepan on low for at least three hours, stirring frequently (a saucepan is most susceptible to scorching). In all cases, a small amount of water can be added to the mixture to help avoid burning. Note: whatever method you choose, temperature of the oil should not exceed 245°F.
