Once it’s hardened you can put in a baggie or container so your fridge doesn’t stink like cannabutter. Once you get practiced up, it’s a cinch. No sense jacking around for hours on end when you can get ‘er done in less than an hour. Good luck, and DON’T BURN YOURSELF! And when you test it, go easy, and wait at least 3 hours to make sure you don’t eat too much and make yourself miserable.

SInce I have no t lab tested after using the Ardent Lyft, I can’t say for sure how well it works, but mine seems to work fine. It does take longer than what I typically do in the oven, but it seems to work. I have no idea what the tcheck device is, but I do know that home testing is wildly inaccurate (so much so as to be useless), so don’t know as you should much stock in the 0% cause that does not seem right. I use trim all the time, it’s great economical cooking material. Using trim should not be an issue at all. The slow cooker, with water added, is my personal favorite way of infusing oil or butter. In a perfect world that would yield 5600 milligrams thc/cbds & other goodies. Point is those 56 cookies would be 100-milligram dose per cookie but because it’s not a perfect world the dose would be from the 80,s to low 100,s milligram per cookie. Which is a high dose most people should start with 10 milligrams to 20 milligrams once you got your sweet spot you will find pain relive or just a great time!

You have to know the percentage of THC in the bud you're using. I cook with a lot of high CBD [cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive compound also found in marijuana that's often used for medical patients] strains as well, so understanding that is also very important if you're cooking specifically for medical patients. But the thing is, you can't really have too much CBD. The worst that can happen if you overload on CBD is you might get tired and fall asleep.

For some reason the majority of internet sites tell people to finely grind the marijuana being used to infuse marijuana butter or cannabis oil. There is even a commercially made electronic gadget for making marijuana butter that includes a built in electric grinder. I have never understood this advice. If you want better tasting edibles, DO NOT FINELY GRIND THE MARIJUANA! What you are trying the extract, the plant’s resinous trichomes, are ON the buds and leaves not IN them! All grinding accomplishes is to put more plant material into the finished product which in turn increases green color and unwanted herbal flavors.
Amazed and thankful you’ve been answering this thread for over a year. I’ve made a few batches of butter in my day and have never decarbed in the oven. Super potent butter achieved but always in the slowcooker or double boiler for around 12 hours stirring every 30 min or so. Clearly this is a time consuming process leading me to making batches only once or 12 a year if that. A friend of mine brought over a batch of cookies she said took her about 1:45 total with the decarb process that were damn good and almost as potent as mine using same quality/amounts of green. I’m baking cookies this week and I want to try decarbing but I’m worried about letting go of my tried and true method. Would decarbing at 215 and infusing in the slow cooker for 8 hours be ok or overkill? I’d love to get better results or the same with less prep time.

Any recipe that calls for butter or oil can be substituted with cannabis-infused coconut oil. The one thing to keep in mind when cooking with cannabis infused oil is to keep the oven/stove temperatures at or below 300°F. You technically can, but I wouldn’t. You aren’t really wasting it by tossing out the plant material after making butter because you have already extracted the good parts. Yes there might be a few trichomes left, but not much, so to my mind all this will really do is give you yucky tasting pesto. (I do make infused pesto, but I use cannabis infused oil). So feel free to give it a try if you like, but my recommendation is to toss the leftover plant material after extractions. WHatever you do, don’t put it down the garbage disposal (I learned that the hard way, seized up and had to call a plumber).

Instead of a sauce pan should I use a pyrex measuring cup above a small pot of boiling water ( a makeshift double boiler) so the oil never gets above boiling temp 212 , so there wont be any chance of destroying potency?

Brownies, I take about 10 grams of flower and grind the holy hell out of it, take a store bought brownie mix and put in the mix and bake just like the box says. BOOM 23 minutes later I have small brownie bits that will knock your socks off. I have no idea the strength as that was my old method of using it. I did not Decarb it I just ground it and cooked it all together. YES it has a strong weed smell but the taste is not too bad.
